Gas and Construction Inspector

@Orchard LLC has been an immediate opportunity for a well-established solutions provider within the defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure sector to identify an experienced Gas and Construction Inspector to support their work in Springvalley, NY. If you are an experienced Construction Field Inspector with expertise in overseeing multiple sites, then our client has a challenge for you. Period of Performance is 6 Months with potential extension beyond the said period and a strong possibility for an FTE opportunity after 6 months on the contract.

Responsibilities:

• Experience and training in excavation, road, or utility construction with an emphasis on gas installations, plastic pipe installation, welding, and steel pipefitting. Gas Inspectors will be required to oversee construction projects on Gas Transmission and/or Distribution pipelines, gate stations, district regulator stations and downgrades.
• Inspector may be required to oversee multiple construction projects at varying stages at one time (from designing, including cost estimating to completed final folder close out).
• Inspector must possess managerial skills, computer literacy, and a working knowledge of the utility industry.
• Inspector will be required to inspect work performed by construction contractors and supervised by Company representatives assuring adherence to company specifications, proper work methods and appropriate use of facilities and equipment.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, maps, plans, specifications, and procedures. They must possess the ability to keep accurate and detailed field records including daily job reports, material usage and locations and field test records.
  Be knowledgeable in the requirements of OSHA. All inspectors will be required to ensure that any job theyre overseeing is maintained in a safe manner.

Required Skills and Experience:

• A high school diploma and work experience is required.
• Have at least three (3) years prior experience and training in excavation, road, or utility construction with an emphasis on electric installations, plastic pipe installation, welding, and steel pipe fitting. Inspectors will be required to oversee construction projects on Overhead and Underground Electric Transmission, Substation, Overhead and Underground Distribution, Environmental, Facilities, and other types of electric utility projects.
• Be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Must possess managerial skills, computer literacy, and a working knowledge of the utility industry.
