Job Title: GIS Technician
Location: Remote (Louisiana-based preferred)
Duration: 3+ Years (Contract)
Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented GIS Technician to support a long-term geospatial initiative. This role involves editing and maintaining spatial data, supporting GIS professionals across disciplines, and contributing to the development and management of GIS applications. Candidates based in Louisiana are preferred for alignment with project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with Esri, Safe Software, VertiGIS, and other GIS platforms to support geospatial data and application management.
Perform data editing tasks including:
Attribute updates
Geometric feature modifications
Metadata maintenance
Edit and maintain Linear Referencing System (LRS) routes and events.
Create and develop maps for internal and external use.
Provide support to GIS Program Managers, Specialists, Configuration Engineers, Data Architects, and Analysts as needed.
Qualifications:
Proficiency with industry-standard GIS software and tools.
Strong attention to detail in spatial data editing and map creation.
Ability to work collaboratively in a remote, team-based environment.
