Job Description

Group Home Assistant Manager - Hope Christian Services, Wyckoff, NJ

Job Summary:

Encourage appropriate and independent behavior for group home residents
through group outings, daily living skills, and supportive counseling.

Job Qualifications: 

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Two years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required
• Valid driver's license in good standing with no more than 5 points

Job Responsibilities: 

• Successful utilization of shower trolley, hi-low beds, electric razors, Hoyer Lift, mealtime
equipment, durable medical equipment, electric communication systems, all household
appliances, thermometer
• Operate ramps/lifts on vans and wheelchairs
• Ability to lift 35 pounds independently, assist in 2 persons lift for residents over 35
pounds, and utilize positioning equipment.
• Assist residents in all activities of daily living while promoting independence when able
• Transport residents to daily program/work as required or needed
• Accompany residents on doctor appointments and ensure proper follow-up
• Attend annual ISP meetings for residents and ensure accurate information
• Maintain records of residents' progress
• Assist in planning recreation and leisure time activities, including community outings
• Prepare menu and do food shopping (encourage maximum resident participation).
• Check medication/prescriptions and assist with preparing monthly medication
administration records.
• Reorder medication as needed.
• Respond to Life Threatening Emergencies per Danielle’s Law and Stephen Komninos’
Law
• All duties as assigned
