PURPOSE OF JOB

The Met Fab operator’s main responsibility is to run and operate the EDM and CNC Milling equipment that he or she is assigned in order to produce quality product at optimal machine efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares workstation for operation by cleaning work area, organizing tools, and reviewing documentation.
• Operates machine, monitors quality to insure that product produced meets NeedleTech quality system standards.
• Follows all product handling procedures; handles product with care.
• Monitors output during shift to insure that standard run rates are achieved.
• Notifies group leader or supervisor of any problems with machine and/or quality of product produced.
• Use inspection microscope and toolmakers microscope to verify workmanship of product.
• Completes all associated documentation required (work travelers, output logs, etc.) per NeedleTech SOP.
• Communicates pass down information if pertinent to job assignment.
• Cleans and organizes work area upon completion of shift.
• Performs other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION : 

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE :

• Requires 6 to 12 months previous experience working in a metal fabrication department working EDM (Preferred) or CNC machines, or equivalent machines experience.  Must be able to use various measuring devices to ensure proper tolerances on finished product.

POSITION SKILLS :

• Ability to stand throughout an eight-hour shift
• Perform related tasks as needed by following verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to comprehend drawings and use measuring equipment as needed.
• Able to lift up to 15 pounds.
