Job Overview

Join our dynamic, dedicated team at Outdoor Wilderness Lab! Work with 6th graders during overnight sessions to foster social-emotional development and experiential science learning in organic outdoor classrooms in the beautiful Unaweep Canyon/ Gateway Area.

Dates of Employment

August 21st - November 17th, 2023

Responsibilities

• Implement best instructional practices to teach science lessons covering a range of topics in outdoor classrooms
• Supervise students around campus, during meals, and overnight in tent cabins
• Assist in the onboarding process for visiting teachers and high school counselors
• Ensure the safety and physical/emotional well-being of students 
• Collaborate with coworkers to develop and assess lesson plans
• Assist with various facilities projects

Requirements

• Ability to live on site when students are in attendance for overnight sessions
• Desire to work closely with 6th graders
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high energy level
• Willingness to live and work outdoors
