Job Description

Position Overview:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of field testing activities for hardware and software systems.

  • This role serves as the central point of communication between engineering teams, test sites, and stakeholders while maintaining strict security protocols and ensuring alignment with product development timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive field testing strategies across multiple product lines

  • Orchestrate cross-functional teams during complex in-field testing operations

  • Manage relationships with testing facilities and partner organizations

  • Create and execute risk mitigation strategies for field testing activities

  • Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting of test results

  • Coordinate logistics for in-field device deployment and testing operations

  • Drive continuous improvement in planning and execution and processes

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of program management experience in technical environments

  • Proven track record managing field testing programs

  • Experience with prototype testing and validation

  • Excellence in stakeholder communication and management

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent efforts

  • Experience with data management and security protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in operations management

  • Strong technical background in engineering or related field

  • Experience with automated testing tools and platforms

  • Degree in technical field

  • The ideal candidate will bring a combination of program management experience, technical expertise, and strong organizational skills to drive successful testing operations while maintaining strict confidentiality standards

Typical Day in the Role:

Typical Day:

  • HM owns the planning, preparation, and execution of large-scale field testing for a highly confidential prototype the product.

  • This person would take much of the planning and execution of these field tests from me so I can focus on other areas of the program. A typical day might include

  • creating working backwards schedules and field test plans

  • taking ownership of ensuring those plan milestones are completed on time

  • working closely with our immediate product team as well as other teams to ensure field testing deadlines are met (e.g. software engineers, hardware engineers, other TPMs, Operations POCs, etc.).

  • Tracking and reporting status of their areas of responsibility in multiple forums

  • Weekly meetings

Hours:

  • In person most of the time, on site directly supporting field testing activities for 1-2 weeks at a time about once per quarter. Location preference would be working in MRY11 (santa cruz) with working from SJC11 (Sunnyvale) 2-3 times per month, but we could also support working from SJC11 most of the time with 2-3 days per month in MRY11 if it gets us a better candidate.
