Job Description

Lamers Bus Lines is looking for a motivated, people-focused Part Time Office Assistant to join our School Bus Department team! In this unique role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our school bus terminal running smoothly—supporting daily operations, assisting the terminal manager and communicating with families and drivers. Your days will include a mix of office responsibilities like booking charter trips, handling phone calls, and entering data. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are a must.  If you’re organized, adaptable, and ready for a role with variety and purpose, we’d love to meet you!

Additional hours can be attained by meeting the requirements of a school bus driver and driving routes and charter trips.

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of student transportation or commercial transportation operations is required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Must be detail-oriented.
• Willingness to drive school bus routes as needed
• Computer experience in a business or education environment is important.

Job Duties:

• Arrange transportation for charters. Assign drivers to trips
• Communicate with drivers on daily basis. Provide route and charter information and maintain a good relationship with drivers.
• Work with customers to book charter trips.
• Check in drivers and work with two-way radio during route times and throughout the day. Relay messages to drivers and handle concerns
• Answer incoming calls. Handle if able to, or direct to correct department.
• Provide assistance to other staff members if needed.
