As a key member of our global marketing team, the Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and supporting our marketing and communications efforts to scientific customers and the life sciences industry. This role supports Marketing, HR/Talent Acquisition, Sales, and our Executive team, creating and executing strategies to increase online engagement with customers, generate new leads, and drive BioAgilytix brand awareness and reputation. This position is pivotal in promoting our BioAnalytical lab solutions and advancing market development through innovative social media strategies.

As a Social Media Manager, your day-to-day activities will include:
  • Work with the Marketing team and internal stakeholders to identify social media needs, manage resources, and prioritize work.
  • Manage the master social media Editorial calendar, coordinating with internal stakeholders across various expertise areas (PR, Commercial, HR/Talent Acquisition, etc.), as well as external agencies that support them.
  • Identify and acquire customers through unique social media marketing plans and programs.
  • Develop new market approaches by analyzing data and consulting with internal and external sources.
  • Communicate the corporate image or products through social media networks and tools.
  • Monitor and manage the company's online communities and presence, making initial responses to inquiries, complaints, and comments.
  • Coordinate escalations or further communications and analyze responses to social media activities, making strategic recommendations.
  • Represent the company message to online communities, media, analysts, and the public.
  • Build and maintain relationships with social network influencers to create marketing opportunities and drive favorable coverage.
  • Write, edit, and produce content for social network pages, blogs, and microblogs for internal and external communications.
  • Create high-engagement social media content, utilizing design tools like Canva or Adobe for content creation.
  • Atomize long-form content and video assets into smaller pieces to distribute across multiple platforms.
  • Understand the bioanalytical lab testing or biological sciences space to respond meaningfully to social media content.
  • Manage platforms including LinkedIn (and LinkedIn Ads), X (formerly Twitter and X Ads), and YouTube.
  • Use scheduling tools such as Sprout Social or HubSpot.
  • Create content specifically for the biological sciences industry.
  • Drive engagement by generating and responding meaningfully to post comments and engaging with key opinion leaders (KOL) profiles.
  • Manage employee amplification by overseeing strategy and creating repost content.
  • Work with and manage the CEO and other internal leaders' social communications.
  • Manage social media advertising campaigns and budgets.
  • Proficiently analyze performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of social media campaigns.
These are skills needed to be successful:
  • Experience in driving engagement on social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, Company Website, etc..)
  • Experience with marketing automation systems (HubSpot, Sprout, or similar)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in tackling complex problems, drawing insights from multiple data sources and stakeholders to make informed recommendations.
  • Experience with Content Design Tools (Canva, Adobe, etc..)
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion to make non-routine choices within established guidelines, with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Exemplary communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to present views in a clear and compelling manner; ability to adapt message/style to fit audience.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess and optimize social media performance.
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or science-related field with five (5) years combined experience in Marketing and/or Life Sciences.
  • Master's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or science-related field with three (3) years combined experience in Marketing and/or Life Sciences.
  • Prior experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical, CRO/CMO, or similar organization is a plus
Working Environment
  • Preferred hybrid office / work from home if near Boston, MA, Durham NC or San Diego CA.
  • Work requires occasional travel (< 10%)
