Job Title: Special Projects Executive Producer - WSB TV

Position Overview

The Special Projects Executive Producer at WSB-TV in Atlanta is a creative, fun, and detail-oriented producer who will wear many hats with a goal of generating a large quantity of high quality, branded stories for TV, website, and OTT platforms. 

The perfect candidate will be a proactive self-starter, managing several ongoing projects with little supervision - while seeking to create new ones.

The position requires a high-level understanding of TV and digital strategy and tactics, including visual storytelling, graphics, teases, and promotional opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Works closely with news team and digital team generating new content ideas and execution 
• Craft energetic, important, and memorable stories and segments  
• Helps support strategy and distribution plan for news, weather and sports content and streaming programming on OTT/digital platforms 
• Will help with long-term planning for big events, political coverage, and station/community initiatives involving digital platform strategies
• Works closely with WSB’s creative team to execute high profile station initiatives and content for newscasts & digital platforms 
• Helps with daily content by ensuring WSB has unique angles. 
• Approves stories for TV, digital and streaming.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 or more years special project experience and/or management experience 
• Digital/OTT experience 
• Top 25 DMA News market experience preferred 
• An innovator who can join a diverse team in a changing media environment
• Proven news judgement  
• Must understand and be able to execute on evolving digital platforms 
• Excellent communicator, make proactive communications a priority 
• Must be a mentor and effective team leader- willing to give constructive feedback and coaching
• Must be willing to work long hours, on-call weekends, as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• B.A. Degree in Journalism, Communications, or other field of study preferred
