Austin Vet Care at Metric seeks a Veterinary Hospital Assistant to join our talented and friendly team!

We are looking for an exceptional individual with strong organizational and time management skills who thrives within a busy environment and who enjoys being an integral part of the team. Our Veterinary Hospital Assistant aids the veterinarians and technicians with patient and client care and basic hospital operations, including maintaining a clean and organized hospital environment. The ideal Veterinary Hospital Assistant candidate is one who is superior in communication with the team and our clients and is someone who loves to take care of patients by maintaining a clean and organized environment. This is a support position for the hospital and the  team and the ideal candidate should be comfortable assisting in daily operations, including stocking supplies, organizing and cleaning the hospital where needed, assisting the veterinarians and technicians with basic procedures and patient care, and helping to take care of patients as instructed throughout the day while maintaining a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, patients, and coworkers.

Our Ideal Veterinary Hospital Assistant should:

• Be punctual and considerate of those around them.
• Communicate effectively and with confidence.
• Be resilient and ready to tackle any challenges head on.
• Have a sincere desire to help the rest of the team, clients, and patients in all tasks assigned to them.
• Be comfortable being on your feet with frequent kneeling and bending for the majority of your 8 hour shift and be able to lift up to 40 pounds independently.
