Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator for a locally owned commercial roofing company. This is a Direct Hire position.
The Roofing Estimator will be responsible for estimating labor and material costs for roofing projects based on detailed drawings, site visits and customer specifications. This role requires a deep understanding of different roofing systems, materials and cost factors. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in cost estimation within the roofing industry. Duties include-
- Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and roofing project proposals.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for roofing projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and permits.
- Perform site visits to gather information and details necessary for accurate estimates.
- Negotiate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit quotation proposals to clients.
- Coordinate with project managers and sales teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Track and adjust cost estimates based on project changes and updates.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and competitor pricing.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Roofing Estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
- 3+ years of experience in commercial roofing, bidding and pricing
- Detailed knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and installation processes.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suites
- Proficiency in relevant software, such as estimation and CAD software.
- College Degree
