Job Summary A Detailer is responsible for cleaning vehicles for customers and for our Sales department. Specific Job-Related Duties and Responsibilities
  • Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surfaces to protect surfaces and preserve shine, using cloth or buffing machine.
  • Vacuums interiors of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris, using vacuum cleaner.
  • Clean upholstery, carpets and others surfaces using cleaning agent applicators and cleaning devices.
  • Applies revitalizers and preservatives to vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot and stain resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components.
  • Cleans engine and engine compartment with various cleaning agents to remove grease and grime.
  • Applies special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which do not respond to normal cleaning procedures, utilizing experience and following recommendations of product manufacturer
  • Applies paint to chipped body surfaces of vehicle using container of touch-up paint.
  • Applies reconditioning chemical to vinyl tops of vehicle to restore color and condition.
General Company Related Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report to work within acceptable time frames and company standards.
  • Maintain appropriate degree of professionalism towards customers and coworkers.
Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Must be able to lift items up to 50 - 75 lbs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and computers.
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Preferred, working knowledge of car parts and the tools used for cars.
  • Preferred, basic knowledge regarding chemical formulas for various cleaning products and the most effective way to use them.
  • Current, valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
