Job Description

The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Seasonal Dining Room Attendant to join the team ! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever. 

Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining. 

Marking the continued expansion of The Del’s culinary experiences, Nobu Del Coronado will be the newest addition to the world-renowned Japanese restaurant empire founded by Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro. Nobu Del Coronado will offer over 3,700 square feet of stunning indoor and al fresco oceanfront dining space, including an outdoor covered patio dining with a pagoda bar and dedicated sushi bar. Nobu Del Coronado will also spotlight Nobu-signature dishes including the iconic Black Miso Cod and Yellowtail Jalapeño, as well as Nobu’s world-renowned sushi, plus locally inspired dishes and cocktails.

  • Classification: Full-Time / Seasonal
  • Shift: Various – must have availability to work weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
  • Pay Rate: $21.01 per hour
  • Union Position: This position is part of the Local 30 Union which requires  complete open availability . We are not able to accommodate schedule restrictions and full-time hours are not guaranteed. Hours and schedule are based on seniority and business needs and may be minimal at times until seniority is established.  You must be comfortable with a schedule and hours that may vary from week to week.


What will I be doing?

  • Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting. Promptly and consistently reset all service ware as prescribed.
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen and condiments. Wipe down booths and chairs, move tables and chairs, and clean floors as necessary.
  • Serve guests with water, begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary. Assist server with food & beverage service to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
  • Make sure that all tables are set completely both before and after shift.
  • Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris.
  • Polish all glassware , plate ware and cutlery as necessary.
  • Help run food, be able to give an accurate and detailed description of every dish, both menu and non-menu items.
  • Assist Food Servers in service of complimentary bottled water.
  • Maintain tables throughout service, clearing dishes between courses and empty glassware as necessary. Support the rest of the floor once your section is maintained.
  • Clearing and scraping all dishes in the side stations after clearing a table
  • Stock all side stations with linen and proper glassware.
  • Service and explanation of bread to guests, after cocktails are served by the captain.
  • Maintain professional demeanor throughout service, assisting servers and captains as necessary.
  • Change tablecloth (if needed) and reset tables as quickly as possible after guests leave the restaurant.
  • Service of Coffee and Hot tea.
  • Move tables throughout dining room in order to be able to set up and accommodate need of the reservations.
  • Carry multiple dishes (up to 6 at one time) in one hand without tray service.
