Position: Fabricator
Job Purpose:
The Fabricator will be responsible for constructing and assembling metal and composite structures, components or products according to specifications, using various welding techniques and fabrication equipment. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, precision and attention to detail to ensure all products meet quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Read and interpret, engineering drawings and schematics to determine fabrication requirements.
•Measure, cut, bend, shape and weld metal sheets, tubes, plates and steel sections to create structures, components or products.
•Select and operate welding equipment such as, MIG for fabrication.
•Fabricate metal structures using cutting, drilling, grinding, sawing and shearing equipment and hand tools.
•Assemble fabricated metal parts using bolts, rivets, clips or other fasteners, and ensure all components fit together as per the design.
•Perform quality checks on all products and ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
•Clean, maintain and repair fabrication equipment to ensure it is in good working condition at all times.
•Collaborate with project Coordinator and Supervisor to identify product design requirements and develop fabrication solutions that meet client needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Certification in welding, fabrication or a related field.
•Experience in manufacturing, fabrication or welding operations.
•Advanced knowledge of fabrication techniques and practices.
•Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
•Ability to operate fabrication equipment such as welding machines, drills, grinders and saws.
•Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
•Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Physical Requirements:
•Bending and stooping
•Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
•Standing for extended periods of time
Salary Range:
The salary range for a Fabricator varies based on experience level. Typical starting salaries range from $18 to $22 per hour. Experienced Fabricators can earn up to per hour or more.
