Job Description

Under broad supervision, the QA Tester/Analyst will lead the QA planning, tracking, and reporting for Client ensuring adherence to QA standards and methodologies. The QA Tester will be responsible for executing the test lifecycle, including test planning, strategy implementation, and test case execution. This role requires strong skills in software testing, including testing custom applications and GIS components, working in Agile environments, and collaborating closely with business partners, the PMO, and vendor delivery teams to understand requirements and report issues promptly.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct testing for custom applications and GIS components .
• Actively engage with various teams for seamless collaboration.
• Develop and document test plans , test scenarios , and test cases ; execute tests, analyze results, and report issues.
• Operate within an Agile framework to support testing needs, ensuring test cases align with QA standards and metrics.
• Collaborate with business partners, PMO, and vendors to understand business requirements and ensure software testing is conducted as planned.
• Support UAT by assisting subject matter experts and business analysts with developing test scenarios.
• Participate in defect triage meetings and demos to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Report weekly status updates to the Quality Assurance Testing Lead.

Education and General Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in testing software development projects.
• Experience in mid-scale or large-scale system development projects , including test automation, test strategy development, and test script execution.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and review/analyze system specifications.
• Manual and automated testing expertise, including the creation and documentation of test cases, test results, and Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM).
• Skills in various testing types, including system testing, regression testing, performance/load testing, security testing , and business continuity testing .
• Familiarity with tools such as GitHub, ServiceNow, TFS, and JIRA .

Specialized Experience

• In-depth knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) concepts and best practices.
• Experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies .
• Familiarity with defect management tools (e.g., TFS, JIRA).
• Preferred experience in the public sector .
• Testing certification such as ISTQB , CSTE , or CAST is a plus.
