Job Description

Job Title: Security Guard (Recreation Cannabis Retailer) 

Cinder, Spokane's premium cannabis retailer, is looking for responsible and friendly unarmed Security Guards to ensure the safety of our company's employees, visitors, and property. This position is tasked with patrolling designated areas, checking customer identification, responding to safety and security concerns, and establishing a security presence while providing exceptional customer service to guests.

The ideal candidate has strong verbal de-escalation skills, sharp observational abilities, and previous security and customer service experience. This person will excel in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests while maintaining a calm and secure environment.

Job Type: Full-time, hourly

Starting Pay Range : $18.00 - $20.00 an hour

Location: Downtown Spokane - 927 W 2nd Ave, Spokane, WA, 99201

Schedule: 8 hour shifts, open availability including nights and weekends

Cinder Hours of Operation: 8am - 11pm

Responsibilities

  • Regularly patrolling the property to maintain order and establish a safety presence and prevent loitering
  • Provide excellent customer service by making guests feel welcome
  • Ability to successfully de-escalate situations verbally to prevent violence of any kind
  • Ensure shoppers are of legal purchasing age by checking identification
  • Ensure organizational stability and enhance reputation through consistently demonstrating professional conduct
  • Dismiss patrons off the property in situations of disturbance or potential threats/danger
  • Maintaining a clean and clear environment for visitors
  • Preventing and reporting damage to the property
  • Follow procedures for emergency situations, escalating to law enforcement as needed
  • Identify potential security risks or disturbances and respond accordingly
  • Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
  • Use radio headset communication 
  • Follow all rules, laws, and regulations set by the Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Control Board

  • Friendly, polite, positive, and professional 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Must have previous experience in a related field
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • CPR or first aid training is preferred
  • Able to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Work in various environments such as hot or cold weather, rain or snow
